Drag Racing Icon Frank Pedregon Becomes a Part of The Drive for Diversity Program

An official announcement was made today by Access Marketing & Communications that Frank Pedregon will partner with the Drive for Diversity program as a team owner in 2006.

"Frank Pedregon Racing brings a unique experience and a wealth of knowledge to the program and we are excited about the diverse audience of people we will reach together," said Greg Calhoun, CEO of Access Marketing & Communications which manages the Drive for Diversity program.

Pedregon is the oldest of three brothers who have made careers in drag racing. Their father- billed as "The World's Fastest Mexican" - lead the way for his family.

Pedregon brings his message of inspiration and success to millions of NHRA fans, encouraging young and old alike to have pride in their heritage and strive for success even in the face of trying circumstances.

"My dream has been diversity," Pedregon said. "The NHRA has been great and I am so excited to join the NASCAR family, a sport that is truly working to bring us all together to do what we love. Tish Sheets (NASCAR Director of Diversity) along with the entire NASCAR team have made my experience great so far and I am eager to work with Access Marketing and the Drive for Diversity program throughout the 2006 season."

Calhoun added, "We are a part of a great era in motorsports. We have arrived at a junction within diversity where NASCAR and drag racing meet and a tremendous partnership with Frank Pedregon Racing begins."

Pedregon will attend the 2006 Drive for Diversity Motorsports Testing & Evaluation Combine at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Va. on Monday, Oct. 17 and Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005. During the 2006 Drive for Diversity Motorsports Testing & Evaluation combine 19 ethnic and gender minority drivers, selected from a competitive pool of over 300 applicants, will contend for the opportunity to participate in the Drive for Diversity program throughout the 2006 season.

Returning team partners for the 2006 season include Bill McAnally Racing/ Richard Childress Racing, Evernham Motorsports and MB2 Motorsports.
