Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Session #1

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 20th annual O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Annette Summer Runs 6.665/192.28, Now #1
Right Lane: Brandon Pesz Runs 8.279/129.12, Now #2

Weather conditions: air temperature 61 degrees, relative humidity 46 percent, barometer 29.89 inches, adjusted altitude 286 feet, track temperature 78 degrees.

Pesz was on and off the throttle and finally lifted. Summer was up against the rev limiter a few times during the run.


Left Lane: Steve Engel Runs 7.880/125.80, Now #3
Right Lane: Mike Bell Runs 6.131/228.96, Now #1

Bell was able to get it to hook up and goes to number one for now.

Left Lane: Chip King Runs 6.122/230.41, Now #1
Right Lane: Doug Palmer Runs 11.534/81.60, Now #6

King with a real nice looking pass to go to number one spot.Chip King's incremental times: 60ft-0.991 sec., 330ft-2.651, 660ft-3.996/183.57mph, 1,000ft-5.150

Left Lane: Glen Kerunsky Runs 6.095/232.07, Now #1
Right Lane: Frankie Taylor Runs 6.217/225.15, Now #4

Kerunsky with great pass to go to the number one spot, while Taylor was a little loose on the top end.

Left Lane: Zach Barklage Runs 8.647/108.42, Now #9
Right Lane: Thomas Patterson Runs 6.534/173.63, Now #5

Barklage got up on the tires and started to spin before he lifted. Patterson clicked it off early.

Left Lane: Troy Critchley Runs 6.186/228.04, Now #5
Right Lane: Jay Payne Runs 6.010/238.38, Now #1

Payne with a great pass, the quickest and fastest ever. Jay Payne's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.628, 660ft-3.941/188.44mph, 1,000ft-5.065

Left Lane: Joshua Hernandez Runs 12.118/68.82, Now #14
Right Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.140/231.00, Now #5

Ashley was real loose, but stayed with it all the way through the 1320. Hernandez was loose and clicked it off.
