JOLIET, Ill. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Fifth annual Ameriquest Mortgage Route 66 NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Jeff Burnett Runs 5.735/248.39, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.813/222.14, Was #14
Right Lane: Steve Franke Runs 6.459/178.78, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.370/224.81, Was #19

Franke with problems on the top end and it looks like we have oil. Burnett with a good looking pass.

Left Lane: Steve Gasparrelli Runs 5.599/252.80, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.918/128.84, Was #21
Right Lane: John Weaver Runs 5.722/250.13, Now #12; Best prior run: 9.978/83.53, Was #22

Gasparrelli with a nice run to go from the outside to the top half of the show. Weaver gets into the show and that bumps out Hagen and Lee.

Chesterman with a great pass to move up a couple spots.

Miner with tire shake and shut it off. Moats with tire shake and pedals it a couple times.
