Ameriquest Mortgage NHRA Nationals Fact Sheet

JOLIET, Ill. --

The Fifth annual Ameriquest Mortgage NHRA Nationals is the 20th of 23 events in the $50 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Professional competitors in three categories earn points leading to 2005 NHRA POWERade championships.

Sportsman competitors in eight categories earn points leading to 2005 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series championships.

WHERE: Route 66 Raceway, Joliet, Ill. The track is located 30 miles southwest of Chicago on Route 53 (historic Route 66), approximately three miles south of the I-80 in Joliet. Take I-80 to exit #132A (Route 53 south) to the track.

WHEN: Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 29-Oct. 2.

PURSE: Cash and contingency awards of more than $1.5 million.

SCHEDULE:      
THURSDAY, Sept. 29 -- Sportsman qualifying and time trials begin at 9 a.m.

FRIDAY, Sept. 30 -- Sportsman qualifying and eliminations begin at 8 a.m. 
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, Oct. 1 - Sportsman eliminations, 8 a.m.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 12:15 and 3 p.m.
JEG'S SPORTSMAN ALLSTAR COMPETITION at 11 a.m., 2:15 and 3:45 p.m.

SUNDAY, Oct. 2 -- Pre-race ceremonies, 10 a.m. 
FINAL ELIMINATIONS begin at 11 a.m.

TELEVISION:
Saturday, Oct. 1, ESPN2 will televise two hours of qualifying highlights at 5 p.m. (ET).

Sunday, Oct. 2, ESPN2 will telecast NHRA 2Day, a 30-minute weekly news magazine show, at 11:30 a.m. (ET).

Sunday, Oct. 2, ESPN2 will televise three hours of eliminations at 8 p.m. (ET).
