MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 21st annual Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Jeff Veale Runs 5.967/221.74, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.527/253.52, Was #7
Right Lane: Mike Kosky Runs 5.492/258.07, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.525/255.39, Was #6

1:29 p.m. - Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 65 percent, barometer 29.83 inches, adjusted altitude 1,313 feet, track temperature 105 degrees.

This is the final round of TAD qualifying and eliminations are scheduled to start later today. Bruce Horner is on the bubble with a bump time of 5.782 seconds.

Kosky had his best run of the three qualifying sessions to move up one spot in the order. Veale will stay where he was.

Left Lane: Richard Bourke Runs 5.632/253.14, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.540/254.09, Was #9
Right Lane: Dan Mercier Runs 5.477/267.48, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.538/264.91, Was #8

Mercier took his dragster right down the groove to move up three spots in the order. Bourke was not as quick as he was yesterday.

Left Lane: Ken Winward No Time, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.734/227.77, Was #15
Right Lane: Rich McPhillips Runs 5.574/256.26, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.639/256.31, Was #12

Winward left before the tree was activated and got no time. He'll stay in the number 15 spot for now. McPhillips had his best run and moved up one spot in the order.

Left Lane: Mark Albert Runs 5.532/254.76, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.541/253.90, Was #10
Right Lane: Ashley Force Runs 5.964/246.26, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.715/247.29, Was #14

Force double-stepped it when she launched and lost at least one cylinder on the left side of the engine. Albert moved up one spot in the order.

Left Lane: Bruce Horner Runs 5.682/242.50, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.782/246.17, Was #16
Right Lane: Karen Benkovich Runs 5.614/252.10, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.645/247.43, Was #13

Benkovich had her best run of the three qualifying sessions but it was not quick enough to move up in the order. Horner moved up two spots in the order. Ken Winward is on the bump spot at 5.734 seconds.

Left Lane: Bill Reichert Runs 5.341/267.96, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.331/270.05, Was #1
Right Lane: Marty Thacker Runs 5.427/264.08, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.408/264.44, Was #3

Both drivers will stay where they were in the order.

Left Lane: Wayne Morris Runs 5.673/255.68, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.721/243.02, Was #17

Morris pedaled it but was still quick enough to make the field. Ashley Force is on the bump spot at 5.715 seconds.

Left Lane: Steve Federlin Runs 5.439/259.61, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.497/258.96, Was #7

Federlin had a nice trip down the track and moved up three spots in the order.

Left Lane: Arthur Gallant No Time, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.336/258.52, Was #2

Gallant launched and smoked the tires right away.

Left Lane: Jeff Bohr Runs 5.351/265.22, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.469/259.76, Was #5

Bohr moved up two spots in the order with a nice pass.
