HENDERSONVILLE, TENN. -- NitroPlate Coatings, a worldwide leader in high performance coatings, has signed an agreement to be an associate sponsor of Mitch King's Modern Outlaw Top Fuel dragster for the balance of the 2005 POWERade Drag Racing Series season.

"We have had great success as an associate sponsor on Scott Palmer's Top Fuel dragster and we remain committed to helping Scott continue to build his program," said NitroPlate president Mike Fuqua. "However, Scott is not scheduled to race at all of the remaining events so we have reached an agreement with Mitch."

King's dragster will feature the NitroPlate logo beginning with this weekend's Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals in Reading, Pa., and will also race at the events in Dallas, Texas, Chicago, Ill., Las Vegas, Nev., and Pomona, Calif.

"We're happy to have NitroPlate on board as we continue to pursue our goal of competing at the highest level of NHRA drag racing," said King, who is currently ranked 14th in NHRA POWERade Series Top Fuel points. "We have run all 18 events thus far in 2005, and the support of NitroPlate will help get us through the last five."

NitroPlate joins a list of King's marketing partners that includes Modern Outlaw, LA King's Confectionary, UVCountry.com and Lucas Oil Products.
