LONG GROVE, Ill. -- The Don Schumacher Racing
organization has expanded yet again, courtesy of Tony "The Sarge"
Schumacher.
The driver of the U.S. Army Top Fuel dragster and his wife, Cara,
welcomed a baby girl into the world here Thursday morning - Jacqueline Susan
- who weighed in at a healthy seven pounds, eight ounces.
"We're all ecstatic," said Schumacher. "Everyone is doing great. My
sons, Anthony and Michael, now have a baby sister to take care of."
Despite a welcomed lack of sleep (Jacqueline Susan arrived at
precisely 2:37 a.m.), Schumacher will begin to turn his attention to this
weekend's Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway outside of
Reading, Pa.
"Hopefully, I can bring home a trophy Sunday night for my daughter,"
he added with a voice full of emotion.
