Pro Modified Round 2 Eliminations
By Larry Sullivan

CLERMONT, Ind. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 51st annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals:

 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed

 Qualified: #2 6.105 235.93 #10 6.176 227.84
1:59 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 38 percent, barometer 29.83 inches, adjusted altitude 1,529 feet, track temperature 118 degrees.

Neither of the two driver in this matchup like to lift, preferring to drive through problems like tire shake and handling problems. That can lead to some exciting racing. Payne was out of the groove slightly in the middle of the run, but neither car was in trouble and Payne's BAE horsepower was enough to come from behind on the top end and give him the win. Jay Payne's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.006), 330 ft(-0.021), 660ft(0.001), 1,000ft(0.037). MOV: 0.0693 seconds (approximately 23 feet).
