CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 51st annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 7.221/183.99, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.096/187.81, Was #2
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.218/185.13, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.118/187.76, Was #5

6:58 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 35 percent, barometer 29.72 inches, adjusted altitude 1,674 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Both riders go right down the groove, but both slow from their earlier rounds.


Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.231/182.01, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.112/181.28, Was #4
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.110/187.11, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.081/184.25, Was #1

Another great pass for Hines, right down the groove. Ellis slows from his earlier run.

Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.293/179.59, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.830/135.18, Was #26



Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.468/174.35, Now #25; No Prior Run

Camarena makes his first full pass of the weekend but doesn't make the field.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.144/187.42, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.154/181.89, Was #9
Right Lane: Ryan Schnitz Runs 7.173/184.70, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.199/182.18, Was #12

A couple of good runs here, both with their quickest of the weekend.

Left Lane: Connie Cohen Runs 7.319/181.47, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.289/177.81, Was #20
Right Lane: Marco Andreano Runs 7.506/165.60, Now #26; Best prior run: 8.312/113.69, Was #27

Andreano makes a big improvement but still has a long way to go to get in the field. no help for Cohen.

Left Lane: Johnny Bond Runs 7.743/166.87, Now #27; Best prior run: 7.680/167.38, Was #27
Right Lane: Ed Krawiec Runs 7.950/127.04, Now #28; Best prior run: 7.718/171.40, Was #28



Left Lane: Kurt Matte Runs 7.302/181.50, Now #23; Best prior run: 7.434/172.94, Was #24
Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.264/179.47, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.291/178.14, Was #21

Both riders improve but aren't in the show.

Robinson doesn't improve and stays on the bump.

No help for either rider, not any movement in the ladder so far this round.

The trend continues, no help for either rider.

Left Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.210/181.74, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.138/184.14, Was #7
Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 19.330/35.56, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.102/192.25, Was #3

Sampey had a good sixty-foot time, a 1.078, the quickest of the round so far, but then she has problems and shuts down about 200 feet out.
