CLERMONT, Ind. -- In attempt to aid victims of the recent Hurricane Katrina disaster, Snap-on Tools dragster driver Doug Herbert today said he will donate 100 percent of all proceeds from his "DougZilla" merchandise throughout this weekend's 51st annual NHRA U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

"No matter what I am going to donate a minimum of $5,000," Herbert said. "This really hit home for our race team because our crew chief Wayne Dupuy and his entire extended family are from the New Orleans area. They were lucky to get out and they have some insurance so they will be able to recover one day, but they've been there and seen the devastation first-hand and the things they told me were just terrible. Our hearts go out to the people in that region and this is our little way of helping them out."

Herbert said he would like to help develop a relief fund that will specifically help fellow drag racers affected by the disaster.

"We may race each other in eliminations like it's the most important grudge match ever, but when it comes to something as devastating as this hurricane, we are all family and right now we need to help out our family," Herbert said. "We need to step up and try to make a difference."
