CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 51st annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.102/192.25, Now #2; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.112/181.28, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.203/183.52, Was #7

Weather conditions: air temperature 74 degrees, relative humidity 37 percent, barometer 29.77 inches, adjusted altitude 1,355 feet, track temperature 118 degrees.

Angelle after having problems in tech yesterday goes to the number two spot. Ellis with a nice looking pass.


Left Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 7.096/187.81, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.248/179.97, Was #11
Right Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.184/187.81, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.304/184.12, Was #16

Tonglet with a real nice looking pass to go to the number two spot. Scali goes to the top half of the field.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.120/187.81, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.256/176.88, Was #13
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.118/187.76, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.177/185.72, Was #6

Brown and Johnson with their best passes of the weekend.

Left Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.140/183.89, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.184/180.89, Was #9
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.081/184.25, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.085/189.04, Was #1

Hines with lowers his track E.T. record and holds on to the number one spot.

Left Lane: Ed Krawiec Runs 7.718/171.40, Now #24; Best prior run: 7.842/170.19, Was #25
Right Lane: Freddie Camarena No Time, Now #28; No Prior Run

Camarena broke and coast to a stop on the track.

Left Lane: Hector Arana No Time, Now #26; Best prior run: 7.830/135.18, Was #25
Right Lane: Kurt Matte Runs 7.434/172.94, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.834/153.82, Was #26

Arana broke right off the starting line.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.259/179.18, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.324/181.11, Was #19
Right Lane: Thomas Miceli Runs 7.414/172.54, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.449/172.12, Was #23

Miceli with his best pass, but only moves up one spot. Berry gets into the show and that bumps out Stoffer. Connie Cohen is on the bump spot at 7.289.

Left Lane: Buddy Robinson Runs 7.256/182.77, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.320/176.77, Was #19
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.227/179.88, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.375/177.58, Was #21

Both of these guys get into the show and that will bump out Gann and Cohen. Mike Berry is on the bump spot at 7.259.

Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.291/178.14, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.312/177.84, Was #20
Right Lane: Mike Kovacevich Runs 7.262/178.80, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.340/179.28, Was #21

Both improve, but not enough to get into the show.

Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.261/184.35, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.266/183.77, Was #18
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.138/184.14, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.295/180.07, Was #21

Gann improves, but not enough to get into the show. Stoffer with a nice looking pass to get into the top half field.

Left Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.190/179.35, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.218/177.21, Was #13
Right Lane: Connie Cohen Runs 10.585/77.85, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.289/177.81, Was #20

Cohen with problems and clicked it off. Guidera with a nice pass.

Left Lane: Ryan Schnitz Runs 9.192/95.04, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.199/182.18, Was #12
Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.224/185.41, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.243/181.74, Was #15

Schnitz with problems and clicks it off. Phillips with his best pass of the weekend.

Right Lane: Chris Rivas Runs 7.275/177.84, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.201/178.33, Was #13

No help here.

Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 11.483/65.47, Now #9; Best prior run: 7.154/181.89, Was #9

Smith had problems and clicked it off.
