Three Spots Remain in CLASH Field

CLERMONT, Ind. -- With just two points-earning events remaining for drivers to claim a spot in the FLOWMASTER Pro Mod CLASH bonus event, here is how the competition stacks up:

*Qualified: Five drivers have clinched spots in the eight-car CLASH field, regardless of their qualifying results in Indianapolis or Dallas. They are, in order of current standing: Joshua Hernandez, Mike Ashley, Jay Payne, Troy Critchley, and Thomas Patterson.

*Provisional qualifiers: The three drivers who control their own destinies are Chip King, Troy Coughlin, and Glen Kerunsky. King can clinch a place in the field by finishing 14th or higher in the final order at Indianapolis.

*Still eligible: Another five drivers still have a mathematical chance of claiming one of the final three positions. In order of points, they are Frankie Taylor, Kirk Kuhns, Shelly Payne, Ed Hoover, and Zach Barklage. Payne has not raced since being injured earlier this season in St. Louis, and Hoover has appeared in only four AMS/ TLR events this season.

*Eliminated: All other Pro Mod Challenge drivers have been eliminated from the possibility of making the CLASH field.

FLOWMASTER Pro Mod CLASH points standings (through 12 of 14 events) 1. Joshua Hernandez 141 2. Mike Ashley 132 3. Jay Payne 123 4. Troy Critchley 115 5. Thomas Patterson 103 6. Chip King 100 7.
