CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 51st annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Thomas Miceli Runs 7.449/172.12, Now #1

6:27 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 81 degrees, relative humidity 25 percent, barometer 29.66 inches, adjusted altitude 2,127 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.



Left Lane: Buddy Robinson Runs 7.320/176.77, Now #1
Right Lane: Mike Kovacevich Runs 7.340/179.28, Now #2



Left Lane: Marco Andreano Runs 8.884/145.52, Now #4
Right Lane: Johnny Bond No Time, Now #6

Bond rolls the beams and does not receive a time.

Left Lane: Ed Krawiec Runs 7.842/170.19, Now #4
Right Lane: Freddie Camarena No Time, Now #8

Camarena breaks after the burnout and does not make a run.

Left Lane: Thomas Byrd Jr. No Time, Now #10
Right Lane: Connie Cohen Runs 7.289/177.81, Now #1

Byrd got about 200 feet out and shut down, not sure why. Cohen makes a decent pass and takes the early pole.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.830/135.18, Now #6
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.375/177.58, Now #4



Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.312/177.84, Now #2
Right Lane: Kurt Matte Runs 7.834/153.82, Now #8



Left Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.218/177.21, Now #1
Right Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.243/181.74, Now #2

A couple of decent runs here, both right down the groove.

Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.324/181.11, Now #7
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.154/181.89, Now #1



Left Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.266/183.77, Now #5
Right Lane: Chris Rivas Runs 7.201/178.33, Now #2

We now have a bump, Andreano with a 8.884, and that will most likely change with the next pair.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.256/176.88, Now #6
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.184/180.89, Now #2



Left Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.304/184.12, Now #10
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer Runs 7.295/180.07, Now #9



Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.203/183.52, Now #5
Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 7.144/185.92, Now #1

Sampey goes right down the groove and takes the pole for now. Mike Kovacevich is on the bump spot at 7.340.

Left Lane: Ryan Schnitz Runs 7.199/182.18, Now #5
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 7.177/185.72, Now #3

Buddy Robinson is on the bump spot at 7.320.

Left Lane: GT Tonglet Runs 7.248/179.97, Now #11
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.085/189.04, Now #1

Hines makes the quickest pass of the session and takes the pole after this round of qualifying. Geno Scali is on the bump spot at 7.304.
