DragRaceCanada.com, Canada's premier all drag racing website, in it's ongoing effort to recognize and support the Canadian drag racing scene has announced in conjunction with it's major advertising partner Eaton Electrical, the 2004 "Canadian Drag Racer of the Year" awards program..

The 2004 DragRaceCanada "Drag Racer of the Year" awards program will recognize the accomplishments of three Canadians last season, one Professional Pro driver, one Sportsman driver and one Crew chief/Tuner.

Covering all forms of drag racing but limited to Canadian drag racers only, the on-line balloting began on Dec. 21st, 2004 and will remain open until January 31st, 2005. After the polls close and the audit is complete the three winners will be announced. They will receive on-line recognition as well as a handsome commemorative plaque from DragRaceCanada and Eaton Electrical.

Each ballot includes four nominated top ranked NHRA or IHRA racers from last season but the on-line voting also accommodates for "write-in" options. Only one vote per e-mail address will be afforded.

For DragRaceCanada "Pro Driver of the Year" the nominees include: Jeff Arend (CMKX-Treme Funny Car/Fastest Canadian Driver), Rob Atchison (2X IHRA Alcohol Funny Car World Champion), Al Billes (NHRA & IHRA Event Winner/Record Holder), Rick Distefano (Western Canada's Fastest Pro Mod).

For DragRaceCanada "Sportsman Driver of the Year" the nominees are: Wally Clark (2004 Can-Am Stock/Super Stock Champ), Jirka Kaplan (NHRA Record Holder/Pole Qualifier), Jeff Klomps (NHRA Bristol Winner), Randy Modersohn (2004 Alberta Super Street Champ).

For DragRaceCanada "Crew Chief/Tuner of the Year" the nominees are: Les Davenport (Cy Chesterman & Rick Distefano), Bernie Fedderly (John Force Racing), Rob Flynn (Bob Vandergriff Jr./Terry Capp), Jeff Perley (Greg Anderson/Summit Racing).
