The semi finals are coming through the opening to the left of the press room here at Pomona. Hough had almost .08 on Townsend on prior round performance but we'll see what happens here. Hough leaves first and never looks back.

Payne has the numbers on paper but we all know that's not where we race. Well, no upsets here. Payne pulls away for the win and there was lots of smoke from the engine on Gasparrelli's car. Nothing on the track so we move on. Payne has lane choice over Hough by .002 in the final. 2:40 p.m.
