LAS VEGAS - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Fuel at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 67 degrees, relative humidity 39 percent, barometer 27.94 inches, adjusted altitude 3,095 feet, track temperature 86 degrees.

They leave the line together, but then it is all Lucas with his quickest pass of the weekend to take the win. Dixon dropped a couple cylinders on the left side.

Bernstein was out of the gate first, but then dropped a cylinder or two and that was all Herbert needed to drive away with the win. It was a good looking pass for Herbert.

Kalivoda was up in smoke as soon as he hit the throttle. Schumacher with another good looking pass, he has now ran four out of five passes in the mid 4.50s.

Smith was out of the gate first, but McClenathan had the difference made up by 150 feet. McClenathan with a good clean pass and straight down Broadway for the win.

Cowin with a big starting line advantage and never looked back to move on to the next round. He will give up lane choice to Cory McClenathan. Baca dropped some cylinders as soon as he hit the throttle. Apparently Cowin lost an engine in the lights as the Safety Safari rolled for a clean up. This will cost Cowin 15 points and $2000 because it is his third oil down of the event.

Hartman-Smith was out of the gate first and never looked back as Grubnic was up in smoke as soon as he hit the throttle. Hartman-Smith will give up lane choice to Schumacher in the next round.

Kalitta made a lane swap after watching Grubnic smoke the tires right in front of him. Kalitta was out of the gate first and blasted on through the quarter mile with the quickest E.T. of the session. Ormsby Jr. with a nice pass a career best E.T. and mph for him.
