JOLIET, Ill. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals:

Ross is really early giving Hazlett the easy win. Hazlett stays on the throttle for 1000 feet, then coasts through the lights.

Biondo hits the throttle and the car makes a violent move to the left. He almost crosses the centerline about 100 feet out and backs off the throttle. Rampy backs off the throttle early, then gets back on it once Biondo gets his car under control. Rampy will take on Pritchett in round two.
