MOHNTON, Pa. -- The 20th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, the 21st of 23 events in the $50 million NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Professional competitors in four categories earn points leading to 2004 NHRA POWERade championships.

Sportsman competitors in six categories earn points leading to 2004 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series championships.

WHERE: Maple Grove Raceway, Mohnton, Pa. Track is located off the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Exit 298), 10 miles south of Reading, Pa.

WHEN: Friday through Sunday, Oct. 8-10.

PURSE: Cash and contingency awards of more than $1.7 million.

SCHEDULE:
FRIDAY, Oct. 8 -- Sportsman time trials and eliminations begin at 10 a.m.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, Oct. 9 -- Sportsman qualifying and eliminations begin at 8:30 a.m.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFYING SESSIONS at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

SUNDAY, Oct. 10 -- Pre-race ceremonies, 10 a.m.
FINAL ELIMINATIONS begin at 11 a.m.

TELEVISION:
Monday, Oct. 11, 5-7 p.m. (ET), ESPN2 (original air)
Sunday, Oct. 17, 7-9 p.m. (ET), ESPN2 (rebroadcast)

2004 EVENT UPDATE: Heavy rains forced NHRA and track officials to postpone the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals from its originally scheduled weekend in mid-September to Oct. 8-10. One round of qualifying was completed for both Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike. Qualifying leaders in those categories include Ron Krisher in Pro Stock and Andrew Hines in Pro Stock Bike.

2003 EVENT WINNERS: Tony Schumacher, Top Fuel; Tim Wilkerson, Funny Car; Warren Johnson, Pro Stock; Michael Phillips, Pro Stock Bike.
