PALATINE, Ill. -- Team Trim-Tex is pleased to announce Hot Cams has joined them as an associate sponsor for NHRA Pro Stock Bike driver Geno Scali’s team. Hot Cams (www.hotcamsinc.com) manufactures high performance camshafts for dirt bikes and ATVs and is the first to produce its own cores for the market. Curt Leaverton, president and CEO of Hot Cams, based out of Des Moines, Iowa, is excited about his company’s professional involvement with Team Trim-Tex, particularly since he already has a long-standing friendship with Scali. “I’ve known Geno for about five years now. It’s great to get involved with this team’s efforts on a professional level.” Scali feels that Hot Cams is a great fit for a Pro Stock motorcycle team. “All my life I’ve been involved with motorcycles, so it makes perfect sense to have a sponsor that makes parts for bikes.” One thing that drew Leaverton to being a sponsor is Scali’s reputation. “Geno is outstanding with the public. I’ve been to many races and watched how he interacts with people. He’s a real professional in how he conducts himself. I think he’s a great representative for our Hot Cams’ product line.” Leaverton also has nothing but praise for Scali’s talent. “Besides knowing how to tune, Geno has a knack for relaying minute details about his runs. He takes a seven-second pass and easily turns it into a 15-minute conversation.” Leaverton explained, “Giving such good feedback is invaluable for the development of a successful bike team because the crew chief finds out specifically how a bike performed. Geno and Earl [Deglopper, crew chief] will be fantastic together.” Another reason Hot Cams and Team Trim-Tex is a good combination is the timing. “With this new team that he’s building with Joe Koenig [Team Trim-Tex co-owner and president of Trim-Tex Drywall Products, the team’s primary sponsor], he’s in the hunt for the championship. This is a great time for Hot Cams to be involved because of the team’s visibility,” Leaverton said. Koenig said the team is “exited to have Hot Cams join us as an associate sponsor. The additional funding that they are providing is greatly needed.” Besides giving financial assistance to the team, Hot Cams president Curt Leaverton will be attending several NHRA national events this season. He plans to be a visible and active supporter and is ready to help in any area of need. This attitude is exactly what Team Trim-Tex was looking for in a sponsor according to Scali. “I want a sponsor that is willing to do more than just give money for signage on the Suzuki,” he said. “I want a sponsor that wants more from me. This team needs sponsors who are invested for the long haul, who want to grow together. Hot Cams has this level of dedication.” Because Scali wants fans to associate Team Trim-Tex with their sponsors, it’s important to him what the sponsor produces. “Hot Cams makes a product that is helping the motorcycle industry grow. I’m glad to be a part of that so I can share my love of motorcycle riding within the NHRA arena and outside it through Hot Cams’ marketing.” Koenig concurs. “I'm an avid dirt bike enthusiast, and my friends and I have used Curt's products and have received big power gains. Just about every kid that goes to an NHRA event has or wants a dirt bike, and I know our team can give Hot Cams a great return value on their investment,” he said.
