Tommy Johnson is 3 and 1 against Cruz Pedregon in their career match ups. Cruz with the starting line advantage and never looked back with a god looking pass.

 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
1 John Force 9 Dean Skuza
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.062 4.792 322.73 0.108 5.889 161.98

Force is the only guy in the Funny Car field to have also qualified at the first race here in 1989. Force holds a 25 -10 advantage over Skuza in career match ups.

Force with a big starting line advantage and blasted on through the quarter mile with his quickest pass of the weekend. Skuza was on a good pass until about half track and then lost traction and clicked it off.

 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
2 Tony Pedregon 302 Dale Creasy Jr.
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.084 4.845 311.41 0.079 5.457 200.50
 Qualified: #1 4.743 316.97 #16 5.001 310.84
Tony Pedregon has own Dale Creasy beating him each of the eight times they have faced each other. This is the fifth time Tony has qualified number one this season and he has four wins, but none from the number one spot.

Creasy with a slight advantage on the starting line, but Tony had the difference made up by just past the Christmas Tree. At half track he had about a car length advantage when Creasy's engine let go with a big bang and fireball. Creasy was able to get the car stopped and the fire put out just past the finish line. Dale is out of the car and okay. Pedregon fell off his qualified time because he dropped a couple cylinders on the top end

 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
5 Whit Bazemore 206 Bob Gilbertson
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.071 4.833 321.50 0.084 4.956 313.73
 Qualified: #3 4.802 326.48 #14 4.953 292.65
Whit leads 4 to 1 in head to head battles and this is the first time these two have raced this year.

Bazemore with the starting line advantage and was real loose all the way down the quarter mile, but keep his foot in it. Bazemore with the second quickest E.T. of the round so far. Gilbertson with a nice pass just not enough for Bazemore.

28 Ron Capps 347 Tim Wilkerson
E1 0.059 5.301 204.91 ****WINNER**** 0.072 4.860 316.01
 Qualified: #6 4.820 315.86 #11 4.861 315.56
Capps has own Wilkerson defeating him 8 out of the nine times they have raced and both times they have raced this year.

Capps with the starting line advantage and has the lead, but then just before half track he started to lose traction and dropped a couple cylinders. Wilkerson drove around him just past half track and took the win with his best pass of the weekend.

3 Del Worsham 4 Gary Densham
E1 0.083 4.959 313.95 ****WINNER**** 0.077 4.887 307.30
 Qualified: #7 4.828 322.50 #10 4.852 314.68
Worsham has a 13 and 5 advantage in head to head match ups over Densham. This is the third time these two have raced this year with each of them getting a win.

Densham was out of the gate first and never looked back to make it all three of the Force cars in round two.

 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
20 Gary Scelzi 10 Johnny Gray
E1 ****WINNER**** 0.099 4.845 322.73 0.067 4.921 317.12
 Qualified: #8 4.833 323.35 #9 4.837 321.42
This is only the second time Scelzi and Gray have raced since Scelzi switched to Funny Car and Gray won that meeting earlier this year.

Gray with the starting line advantage but Scelzi has him chased down by 330 feet and just blasted on through for the win. He will get lane choice over Tony Pedregon because of the faster speed and he and Pedregon had identical E.T.s.

The other round two pairings are Cruz Pedregon with lane choice over his brother Frank, Force will get to pick his lane against teammate Densham, and Bazemore will get his choice of lanes against Wilkerson.
