JOLIET, Ill. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Sixth annual Lucas Oil NHRA Route 66 Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Johnny Rocca Runs 6.378/217.91, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.390/219.19, Was #8
Right Lane: Marty McGinnis Runs 7.263/127.86, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.416/220.26, Was #10

McGinnis with problems and clicked it off. Rocca with a slight improvement, but not enough to get him off the bubble.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.262/224.47, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.286/224.36, Was #5
Right Lane: Scott Ray Runs 6.307/220.94, Now #6; No Prior Run

Ray got back into the show here and Smith moved up into the top half of the show.

Left Lane: Roy Hill Runs 6.278/226.85, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.250/227.00, Was #2
Right Lane: Wayne Torkelson Runs 6.396/220.58, Now #10; No Prior Run

Hill with another good looking pass, but will stay number two. Torkelson got down the track, but not in the show.

Left Lane: Troy Critchley Runs 6.295/220.58, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.408/219.51, Was #11
Right Lane: Bill Hill No Time, Now #1; No Prior Run

Something wrong with Bill Hill's E.T. because it came up 6.007 seconds at 216.55 mph.

Left Lane: Bill Kuhlmann Runs 11.228/75.87, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.437/219.94, Was #15
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 6.426/224.43, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.339/221.71, Was #10

Kuhlmann with a lot of tire shake and he shut off. No help for King.

Left Lane: Frankie Taylor Runs 9.404/100.70, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.426/218.34, Was #14
Right Lane: Fred Hahn Runs 10.799/91.75, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.255/227.00, Was #4

Hahn rattles the tires right off the starting line and clicks it off. Taylor got out of the groove and he shuts off. That wraps up round two of qualifying.
