Final Testing for NHRA Pro, Sportsman Teams Before '04 Tour Begins

LAS VEGAS -- The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will present its 2004 Blast-off Feb. 13-15. This event is the final opportunity for NHRA POWERade professional and NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Sportsman teams to test prior to the start of the 2004 season.

The first two drag-racing Blast-off events have featured the debut of new body designs and paint schemes, last-minute licensing passes by new drivers and the final opportunity for many teams to grasp their tune-up packages.

Last year's event featured testing runs by more than 40 professional teams including: Top Fuel Dragster, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike. More than 120 Sportsman teams participated, including 22 Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars. Alcohol cars are invited to compete in the Las Vegas Top Alcohol Showdown, which will pay cash awards to the drivers posting the top speeds of the weekend’s testing sessions.

Teams wishing to pre-register for the test session may contact LVMS at (702) 632-8213.
