CLERMONT, Ind. -- Special awards fron the 49th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals.

Best Appearing Car – Jesse James/Mac Tools Top Fuel dragster entry. Driver: Scott Kalitta, Ypsilanti, Mich.

Best Appearing Crews – Skoal Racing Chevrolet Camaro Funny Car entries. Drivers: Tommy Johnson Jr., Avon, Ind., and Ron Capps, Carlsbad, Calif.

Hedman Hedders Best Engineered Vehicle Award ($1,000 to the best engineered vehicle) – Warford Motorsports Super Gas entry. Driver: Randall Warford, Nashville, Ind.

Budweiser Shootout At Pomona Award ($4,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Top Fuel) – David Baca, Pittsburg, Calif., American Racing Wheels dragster, 4.499 seconds, 324.51 mph.

Budweiser Shootout At Indianapolis Award ($4,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Funny Car) – John Force, Yorba Linda, Calif., Castrol High-Mileage Ford Mustang, 4.759 seconds, 307.72 mph.

NHRA King Demon Crown Award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) – Kurt Johnson, Lawrenceville, Ga., ACDelco Chevrolet Cavalier, 6.778 seconds, 203.77 mph.

K&N Filters Pro Bike Klash ($1,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock Bike) – Angelle Savoie, New Orleans, U.S. Army Suzuki, 7.154 seconds, 186.61 mph.

Motel 6 “Who Got the Light” ($1,000 to the individual Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock driver who earns a round win in eliminations by the narrowest margin.) – Greg Anderson defeated Jeg Coughlin Jr. by .0019-of-a-second margin of victory in the semifinal round of Pro Stock eliminations.

Strange Engineering “Perfectly Strange” Performance Award ($250 bonus to the first racer in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street who wins an elimination round by running dead-on their dial-in or index) – Larry Stewart, Super Stock; and Jeff Klomps, Super Gas.
