MILLINGTON, Tenn. -- Special awards from the 16th annual O’Reilly Mid-South Nationals.

Best Appearing Car – Matco Tools Suzuki Pro Stock Bike entry. Rider: Craig Treble, Chandler, Ariz.

Best Appearing Crew – Barry Grant Chevrolet Cavalier Pro Stock entry. Driver: Barry Grant, Dahlonega, Ga.

Hedman Hedders Best Engineered Vehicle Award ($1,000 to the best engineered vehicle) – MB Precision Machining Inc. Pro Stock Bike entry. Rider: Mike Berry, Littleton, Colo.

Budweiser Shootout At Pomona Award ($4,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Top Fuel) – David Baca, Pittsburg, Calif., American Racing Wheels dragster, 4.533 seconds, 319.75 mph.

Budweiser Shootout At Indianapolis Award ($4,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Funny Car) – Whit Bazemore, Indianapolis, Matco Tools Dodge Stratus R/T, 4.826 seconds, 316.67 mph.

NHRA King Demon Crown Award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) – Jeg Coughlin Jr., Delaware, Ohio, Jeg’s Mail Order Chevrolet Cavalier, 6.748 seconds, 202.94 mph.

K&N Filters Pro Bike Klash ($1,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock Bike) – Angelle Savoie, New Orleans, U.S. Army Suzuki, 7.096 seconds, 185.26 mph.

Motel 6 “Who Got the Light” ($1,000 to the individual Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock driver who earns a round win in eliminations by the narrowest margin.) – Greg Anderson defeated Jeg Coughlin Jr. by .0052-of-a-second margin of victory in the final round of Pro Stock eliminations.

Strange Engineering “Perfectly Strange” Performance Award ($250 bonus to the first racer in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street who wins an elimination round by running dead-on their dial-in or index) – Bobby Fuentes, Super Comp; and Jeremy Jensen, Super Gas.
