JOLIET, Ill. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster Allstars at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 19th annual NHRA Jeg's Allstars:

Howard got into the Allstars because Lee Callaway was unable to attend this weekend. So far she has made the most of it, scoring a point for Division 4, the leaders going into this round. Thacker is the defending champ and is a blocker in this event.

Thacker flickered the bottom bulb as he was staging. Howard got the big holeshot, and pitched the blower belt early in the run. Thacker, though, with an amazing run! He becomes the third B/AD in the 5.20's, and makes the first 270 mph run for a blown alcohol dragster. Just a picture-perfect run.

Lucas is the only nitro car in the field. Monaghan needs a holeshot and/or some luck to get past Lucas here.

He gets neither. He was way late, and Lucas makes a great pass to score another point for Division 7. Monaghan does make the quickest run of his career though. Lucas will have lane choice over Thacker in the final.
