JOLIET, Ill. - Results of final, round 3 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster Allstars at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 19th annual NHRA Jeg's Allstars:

 Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-----Car#-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT----ET---Speed
7 Marty Thacker 7438 Morgan Lucas
E3 0.031 5.809 208.68 ****WINNER**** 0.021 5.332 268.44
 Prior rounds:
E2 (S Howard ) 0.105 5.293 270.70 (F Monaghan ) 0.049 5.259 272.50
E1 (M Cofini ) 0.047 5.359 268.01 (D Wells ) 0.069 5.306 270.64
 Qualified: #7 8.348 131.04 #1 5.311 270.81

This should be a classic. It's A/FD vs. B/AD, as two of the best do battle for the Allstars title. Thacker is the defending champ, while Lucas is making his first Allstars appearance. We've had a different winner in this class at the Allstars since 1992, and only two drivers--Bill Walsh and Tom Conway--have won back-to-back, so Thacker has a chance to make history.

Thacker may have overpowered the track as he was only .971 at 60 feet. Great job by the Lucas team.
