Top Alcohol Dragster Qualifying Notes, Session #2

ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 18th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: James Copeland II Runs 5.569/256.33, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.759/249.93, Was #15
Right Lane: Larry Traugott Runs 5.998/231.06, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.626/244.83, Was #12

Current weather conditions: 80 degrees, 50 percent relative humidity, the barometer 29.80 inches, with a track temperature of 102 degrees.

Copeland with a nice looking pass to move up the ladder.

Left Lane: James Thompson Runs 5.492/259.51, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.550/255.82, Was #8
Right Lane: Douglas Foley Runs 5.579/255.46, Now #12; Best prior run: 10.712/69.50, Was #25

Thompson launched hard and keep it hooked up. Foley moves from outside the show to the number 12 spot.

Left Lane: Bill Reichert Runs 5.469/268.73, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.480/267.77, Was #5
Right Lane: Shelly Howard Runs 5.922/226.24, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.635/237.40, Was #15

Howard spit out the number 6 spark plug in round one and it neve fired on this pass. Reichert with another good pass.

Left Lane: Ed Schmeeckle Runs 5.526/254.59, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.588/251.11, Was #13
Right Lane: David Wells Runs 5.493/257.43, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.900/184.38, Was #21

Wells with a good pass after having problems in round one to move into the top half the show. Schmeeckle moves up a couple spots.

Left Lane: Darryl Hitchman Runs 6.509/228.36, Now #20; Best prior run: 5.807/250.20, Was #20
Right Lane: Karl Brounkowski Runs 6.041/249.93, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.652/261.55, Was #17

Left Lane: Denny Hummel Runs 6.181/173.14, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.661/140.07, Was #22
Right Lane: Chris Ricketts Runs 5.871/242.32, Now #18; Best prior run: 5.760/247.04, Was #18

Callaway launched hard and keep the Goodyears stuck to go from the outside of the show to the number four spot.

Right Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 5.413/260.86, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.362/263.69, Was #1

Both cars slow from their runs earlier today.

Right Lane: Gene Snow Runs 5.537/236.46, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.474/245.76, Was #6

Federlin shook the tires hard and clicked it off. Snow with a good looking pass.

Right Lane: Brandon Pierce Runs 17.287/40.08, Now #21; Best prior run: 5.879/207.27, Was #21

Thacker with a great looking pass for the number two spot.

Right Lane: Todd Datweiler Runs 7.741/105.68, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.455/261.24, Was #4
