Left Lane: Jose Maldonado Runs 7.040/196.76, Now #2 Right Lane: Mike Corvo Jr Runs 7.111/195.96, Now #5 Corvo rattled the tires a bit. Left Lane: Jerry Haas Runs 7.045/196.24, Now #4 Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.951/198.85, Now #1 This will be Line's last event of 2003, as he will make a serious run at Rookie of the Year in 2004. Great run for Line in the heat. Haas' 1.029 short time was the best of the round so far. Left Lane: Nick Fratt Runs 7.091/177.28, Now #8 Right Lane: Kenny Koretsky Runs 7.048/197.08, Now #5 Fratt moved around a bit at the top end and had to shut it off early. Left Lane: Ben Watson Runs 7.047/196.10, Now #6 Right Lane: George Marnell Runs 7.029/197.25, Now #2 Decent run for Marnell on his home track. Both drivers were 1.05 at 60 feet. Left Lane: Barry Grant Runs 12.128/71.41, Now #13 Right Lane: Mark Whisnant Runs 7.039/197.19, Now #4 Grant with big-time tire shake. Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 7.011/196.27, Now #3 Right Lane: Dave Connolly Runs 6.960/198.44, Now #2 Gotta love the old school Grumpy's Toy paint on Connolly's car. He'll slide into the second spot with that run. Gaines with a decent run, but there are a lot of good cars behind him. Left Lane: Gene Wilson Runs 8.772/136.02, Now #15 Right Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 14.882/54.98, Now #17 Pawuk is using a Panella engine at this event. Both drivers with severe tire shake, Pawuk first then Wilson. Left Lane: Taylor Lastor Runs 7.008/197.80, Now #3 Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 17.800/44.42, Now #19 Little wiggle for Lastor early-on, but he recovers. Coughlin shakes the tires and shuts off. Left Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 7.085/197.19, Now #14 Right Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 9.457/138.48, Now #18 Both drivers go 1.03 at 60 feet. Morgan was very loose but never lifted. Left Lane: Scott Geoffrion Runs 13.285/64.05, Now #21 Right Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 7.079/197.62, Now #14 Allen with the best short time of the round, a 1.019. Left Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.978/196.90, Now #4 Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.965/198.32, Now #3 That's more like it. With these tricky track conditions, those are pretty good runs. Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 9.071/100.68, Now #22 Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.990/198.00, Now #5 Johnson with a good run. There were a couple of puffs of smoke out of Krisher's car, which is never good. No oil, but the vacuum truck is rolling. 3:21 p.m. Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 7.007/197.10, Now #7 Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.977/198.52, Now #4 3:26 p.m. WJ is sporting the AC Delco logo this weekend, along with some very cool blue flames. Jeggie will have to give up his championship this season, but his performance lately shows that he will be ready to challenge for another title in 2004. Good run for Coughlin. Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.978/197.97, Now #6 Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.965/198.79, Now #3 KJ is driving the KISS car this weekend. He doesn't seem like the type to "Rock and roll all night and party every day." More like "R & D all night and drag race every day." Well, a KB Racing car will be on the pole after one session, but it's not who you think. Jason Line stays number one, as neither KJ nor Anderson are able to run quick enough. Haas is on the bump at 7.045, and eight cars are in the sixes. 3:30 p.m.
