Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Session #2

LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Third annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Shannon Jenkins Runs 6.303/220.15, Now #1; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Mitch Stott Runs 11.160/76.39, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.402/217.25, Was #5

The track is fully shaded now, so we should see some good numbers in this session.

How about that? Jenkins with the best run of the day (so far). Stott has to shut off before 330.

Left Lane: Thomas Patterson Runs 6.310/221.82, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.326/141.27, Was #16
Right Lane: Fred Hahn Runs 6.576/219.54, Now #15; Best prior run: 8.934/113.62, Was #17

Another good run in the left lane. Hahn improves but it's not nearly enough.

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 6.335/220.40, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.337/221.02, Was #3
Right Lane: Dan Rowe Runs 9.354/94.77, Now #17; Best prior run: 6.889/157.41, Was #17

Castellana makes like a bracket car and runs his second straight 6.33. Rowe was out of shape before 60 feet.

Left Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.381/220.58, Now #6; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Von Smith Runs 6.335/226.39, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.343/224.70, Was #4

Finally we get a pair of good runs. Hard to say if Ashley's run will stay in the top eight.

Left Lane: Tim McAmis Runs 6.392/221.42, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.398/221.45, Was #4
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 6.367/223.14, Now #5; No Prior Run

McAmis gets in for now.

Left Lane: Marty McGinnis No Time, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.592/213.47, Was #18
Right Lane: Scott Ray Runs 6.372/218.30, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.404/217.39, Was #10

Ray slides in to the show, bumping McAmis.

Left Lane: Zach Barklage Runs 6.401/223.69, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.561/218.27, Was #16
Right Lane: Wayne Torkelson Runs 6.438/219.01, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.441/216.00, Was #14

Good runs, but not good enough to get in.

Left Lane: Rick Distefano Runs 7.032/150.18, Now #20; Best prior run: 10.513/81.16, Was #17
