CLERMONT, Ind. -- The Champions of the 2003-racing season at Indianapolis Raceway Park were honored at a champion’ s dinner held at Primo’s banquet hall on Friday, December 19. During the course of the evening the champions and top finishers in the V. P Fuels ET drag racing series were honored along with the champions of the Championship Auto Racing Series (CARS) Series.

Champions in the V. P. Fuels E. T, drag racing series Team Kendall/Summit racing series were: Jeremy Mitchell in Pro; Wes May in Super Pro; Ron Wheatley in Super Pro Bike; Chris Walters in Street; Danny Crawley in Nostalgia and Joey Shipp in Jr. Dragsters. Walters was also honored as the 2003 ET drag racing IRP Track Champion.

The champions received monetary pay out, a champion’s jacket, a framed picture of their car and a IRP Gold Card which allows them free admission to IRP for the 2004 season.

The CARS Series honored the winners of the Truck division and the Stock Car division. Jerome Branscum was the champion in the Stock Car division and Joe Hill was the winner in the Truck division.

Both the ET bracket racing series and the CARS Series will both return to IRP for the 2004 season. The 2004 racing schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
