CAYUGA, Ont. -- Construction continues at a rapid pace as Toronto Motorsports Park prepares for the inaugural IHRA ACDelco Canadian Nationals, August 9-11, 2002.
The foundation and base for the new tower and VIP suites is in place, with construction of the tower, which is being pre-fabricated off site, beginning in June. At the top end, a new track base has been laid and awaits paving, extending the length by 400 feet. "Uli Bieri and his staff at Toronto Motorsports Park assured me the track will be ready for the ACDelco Nationals," stated IHRA President Bill Bader. "We look forward to bringing Canadian drag racing fans a second IHRA national event and starting an exciting new chapter in Canadian drag racing at Toronto Motorsports Park."
