MINOT, N.D. -- During the Holley Pro-Am event in Minot, North Dakota this past weekend, Bruno Massel, Jr. was involved in a top end accident that destroyed much of his Wyotech-sponsored Top Dragster. The accident took place in the shutdown area, when Bruno’s parachutes failed to deploy. "With the shut-down area being extremely short, I didn’t want to take any chances. I deployed both chutes, but I never felt them hit, so I knew I was in trouble. The car started bouncing severely. At that point all I could do was aim it into the net." Except for some extreme soreness, Bruno walked away uninjured. The car is already on its way to be front-halved and Bruno is expecting to be back in action at the next Holley Pro-Am event, in Sioux Falls, SD. "I want to thank Kurt Damron at Undercover Chassis for building me a safe racecar. The car took the impact and broke away like it was made to, leaving the cockpit as well as myself intact." Bruno would also like to thank the entire Dakota Flat Track staff that came to his aid, as well as the many racers that have offered their assistance. "People have shown their sincere concern for my safety, they’ve offered me parts and even their cars to get me back racing again. The IHRA community is truly an extended family that I feel fortunate to be a part of it." IHRA: 10 Most Recent Entries [ top ] Feb 08- IHRA Pro Stock to Replace Factory Stock Showdown (F.S.S.)
