Thu, 7 Nov 2002, 07:03 PM Rain Breaks Pomona Drought
By Larry Sullivan
POMONA, Calif. - 3:50 PM Thursday, November 7 - There hasn't been any significant rainfall in Pomona
for the last 228 days. That streak has ended.
Rain began falling midway through the first qualifying session for Top Fuel,
bringing the 38th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals to a
stop at 3:20 PM.
It is still raining and more rain is headed this way. Race officials are still
hoping for enough of a break to finish Top Fuel and Funny Car before today,s 7:00
PM curfew, so we are in the "wait and see" mode.
