GLENDORA, Calif. - Edwin Mangune has been hired as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series, NHRA Vice President of Marketing Gary Darcy announced.

Mangune, 36, joins NHRA after serving as Director of Sales and Marketing for Turbonetics Inc. in Simi Valley, Calif. During his two years at Turbonetics Inc., Mangune was responsible for evaluation of strategies for sales and new business development.

"I'm very excited to be at NHRA and get involved with the sport compact series while it's on the ground level," said Mangune. "The sport compact car market is one of the fastest growing segments of the motor sports community because it has been embraced so enthusiastically by the youth of today. With NHRA's involvement, we feel that this new series has unlimited potential for growth."

Prior to working at Turbonetics Inc., Mangune, a Los Angeles resident, worked for HKS USA Inc. in Carson, Calif. for more than nine years where he served in various roles on the sales and management team.

"We are thrilled to have someone of Edwin's ability join the NHRA team in what is a very exciting time at NHRA," said Darcy. "Edwin's knowledge and expertise in the sport compact car market, along with his sales and marketing background, add the experience needed to make the NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series a success."
