POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 3 eliminations in Top Fuel at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 38th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

This would appear to be all Herbert on paper as he has lane choice by about three tenths of a second. I wonder if Oyama-san is going to Disneyland? Herbert moves about one car length and the rear tires are up in smoke. The run wasn't pretty for Oyama as he exploded an engine in the lights but Robert Rheel says they have the parts and they will be there for the final round. This could be an interesting post race interview.

Cory Mac rides a big holeshot to a trip to the final round. Cory left first by a big margin and Cowin simply ran out of real estate to catch him. Oyama will once again have to give up lane choice in the final round. To date he hasn't cared.
