INDIANAPOLIS -- The Champions of the 2002-racing season at Indianapolis Raceway Park were honored at a champion's dinner held at Primo's banquet hall on Friday, December 13. During the course of the evening the champions and top finishers in the Team Kendall/Summit racing ET drag racing series were honored along with the champions of the Championship Auto Racing Series (CARS) Series. Champions in the Team Kendall/Summit racing series were: Brandon Dillman in Pro; Dan Richardson in Super Pro; Vince Arthurs in Super Pro Bike; Chris Walters in Street; Danny Crawley in Nostalgia and Joe Shipp in Jr. Dragsters. The champions received monetary pay out, a champion's jacket, a framed picture of their car and a IRP Gold Card which allows them free admission to IRP for the 2003 season. The CARS Series honored the winners of the Truck division and the Stock Car division. Robert Amos was the champion in the Stock Car division and Steve Blair was the winner in the Truck division. Both the ET bracket racing series and the CARS Series will both return to IRP for the 2003 season. The 2003 racing schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
