SALEM, Ohio -- Quaker City Raceway, Edmond Richardson Motorsports, and Worthy Racecars have joined forces to bring a major bonus race valued at over $20,000 to Salem, Ohio for the summer of 2003.

Richardson’s official web site, SportsmanRacing.com is the primary sponsor of each Friday night race program at Quaker City. Any racer that reaches the final round during a SportsmanRacing.com Friday Night event will qualify for the Worthy Dragster Dash.

The Worthy Dragster Dash will be held on Friday September 26, 2003. Qualified racers will compete for a near turnkey racecar. The prize will be a 230” Slip-joint Worthy Dragster equipped with a GM 502 from Greenwood Chevrolet and a Marco Abruzzi power glide transmission from A & T Garage.

“I believe that Quaker City’s racers are going to love this program. We are very thankful to each of the companies that have helped bring life to this new bonus race,” said Matt Zapp of Quaker City. “Where else can you race on a Friday night for only $20 and have the chance to qualify for a free $20,000 race?”

Additional companies have also agreed to supply components to finish the car. John Kyle of Advanced Product Design will supply the fuel system including a new APD alcohol carburetor. Carl Beckett of Beckett Body Works will paint the car with materials provided by BASF Automotive Finishes. Wheels, tires, gauges, and other major components are also being pursued.
