LEESBURG, Va. --
It’s official. Johnny Rocca, a 40-plus year veteran of professional drag racing and
one of its more colorful and consummate Pro Modified car owners, has officially said
goodbye.
The announcement, which was made by Rocca from his Leesburg, VA-based USA Racing
Team’s “Ironhorse” headquarters, was brief, but to the point.
“It’s time for me to go back to my tribe - and go back to my people,” began the
statement by Rocca, a proud member of the Southern Band Tuscarora Indian Tribe.
“Nobody loves drag racing more than I.”
No further details surrounding Rocca’s announcement are available, although he has
agree to explain his decision in the near future.
