LAS VEGAS -- In the final results from The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Federal-Mogul Dragster driver Steve Federlin and Federal-Mogul Funny Car pilot Steve Harker claimed victories this weekend at the NHRA Pacific Division finals. Federlin of Oregon City, Ore., took on newly crowned Pacific Division champion, Brandon Bernstein of Lake Forrest, Calif., in the final and posted a 5.628-second, 254.38 mph pass to take the win.
Others claiming victories at the Pacific division finals were Jeff Taylor of Lumberton, S.C., in Comp; Jeffrey Miller of Pearland, Texas in Super Stock; Gary Emmons of Pasadena, Texas in Stock; Mike Ferderer of Buckley, Wash., in Super Comp; Craig Anderson of Waxahatchie, Texas in Super Gas; Kurt Gross of Oregon City, Ore., in Super Street; Pat Jones of Norco, Calif., in Super Eliminator; and Jerry Stinson of Medford, Ore., in Motorcycle. Receiving awards this weekend was: Jim Hughes from Phoenix, Ariz., and his '01 Corvette for Best Appearing Car. The Best Engineered Car award was taken home by Tom Huggins from Santa Paula, Calif., for his '01 Grand Am. Finally, Pete Cerda and his team from Sacramento, Calif., earned the Best Appearing Crew award. The Pacific Division Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series makes it next stop at Firebird Int'l Raceway in Phoenix, Ariz., March 2002.
