ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 2 eliminations in Federal-Mogul Funny Car at the 16th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec:

They left the starting line together and Payne with another 5.60 in his bracket Federal-Mogul Funny car takes the win. Harker is out of the groove and close to the wall.

Williams with a slight starting line advantage, but Smith has the difference made up by 200 feet and marches on through to the next round.

Branch did his job on the tree, but after that it was all Austin with a great looking pass. Austin will give up lane choice to Smith.

White out of the gate first and Newberry had to drive through a little tire shake, but had the power to chase him down by half track to take the win. Margin of victory = 0.018 seconds (approximately 7 feet). Newberry will give up lane choice to Payne in the next round.
