NOBLE, Okla. - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Federal-Mogul Funny Car at the NHRA Division 4 Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series Finale listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Jackie Stidham Runs 6.058/236.77, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.089/237.15, Was #3
Right Lane: Ron Rice Runs 6.599/215.41, Now #10; No Prior Run

Stidham improves on his ET, but not on his position. Rice's first pass of the weekend and it was a loose one, the car moving all over his lane.

Left Lane: Tate Branch Runs 6.030/234.61, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.043/239.36, Was #2
Right Lane: Kebin Kinsley No Time, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.161/225.33, Was #4

Kinsley hopped through the staging beams and the run was disallowed.

Left Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 6.061/236.90, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.184/223.32, Was #6

A nice run for Palmer here, though the car was a handful, moving close to the centerline several times.

Left Lane: Lawren Jones Runs 6.202/233.22, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.467/206.75, Was #9
Right Lane: Jimmy Jones Runs 6.114/230.82, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.172/233.94, Was #6

Lawren was loose on the top end of the track, the car skating around from 800 feet on down.

Left Lane: Steve Burck Runs 6.735/212.41, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.852/199.20, Was #11
Right Lane: Todd Simpson Runs 5.975/239.36, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.004/242.78, Was #1

Burck never got the car up to full power. Simpson moves to the top, but he may have hurt the engine in the process. He was trailing heavy smoke going through the traps.
