FMDRS 4-6 - Federal-Mogul Funny Car Round 1 Eliminations

NOBLE, Okla. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Federal-Mogul Funny Car at the NHRA Division 4 Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series Finale:

Johnson is racing as an alternate in place of Bob Alberty. He was out of the groove just before half track, got real close to the retaining wall and had to lift.

Jones got loose at 300 feet, the rear end of the car wiggling around. He got it straightened out by about 500 feet, but by then Branch was long gone.

Kinsley got out of the groove at half track and he tagged the retaining wall at about 900 feet. Stidham will have lane choice over Branch in round two.

This was a good side-by-side drag race to close out this round. Margin of victory = 0.032 seconds (approximately 11 feet). Palmer will give Simpson lane choice in the semis.
