INDIANAPOLIS - FMDRS 3-6 Federal Mogul Drag Racing Series Good morning from another cool and damp Indianapolis Raceway Park. It rained again last night and we didn't get started until 9:30am this morning with Stock. We have had several brief rain delays and Stock is still running. The skies are again covered with dark gray clouds and the weather man isn't as optimistic with today's forecast. Current conditions are not too bad for racing with a temperature of almost 70 degrees, humidity of 90+%, barometer of 29.74, and a tail wind gusting to 15-20 MPH. The plan for today is to get another pass for the field and start round one of the "Super" classes by early afternoon. It conditions permit, we'll try for a third session for Federal-Mogul and Competition Eliminator this evening. I talked to David Hirata this morning about the bang at the end of his burn out yesterday in Federal-Mogul Dragster. He said that they lost the head off of an intake valve. They are going through a top to bottom check out to see what else was involved. Needless to say, another pair of cylinder heads and some pistons are in order.
Well, we are stopped again for drying. The jet dryer is making passes up and down
the track. We may never get Stock finished |
