Bazemore needed to win this race if he wanted to keep his championship hopes alive. It was tough but to remain in the race, Bazemore needed to win the race and take back the national record. By the end of the day, he had done neither. Force left the line only two-thousandths of a second before Bazemore but he got to the 60-foot mark 39 thousandths of a second quicker than Bazemore. Force stayed in front the rest of the way and had a margin of victory of 42 thousandths of a second, or about 20 feet. This was Force's 12th final round of this season and sixth win of the year. It was also his sixth career win at Maple Grove.
