DELMAR, Del. -- It's no secret that NHRA drag racing is a family sport so, it's not uncommon to find first and second generation racers actively participating among NHRA's sportsman and ET ranks. Well, the Raser family, from Oxford, Penn. seems to have them all beat. With three generations, spanning from 74 year-old Lon to 19 year-old Jason, all racing at the NHRA Summit Racing Series Northeast Division Finals for Cecil County Raceway, their dedication to the sport of drag racing is truly notable. Among them they have nearly 100 years of drag racing experience.

The obsession with the sport first began with Lon, in 1958, when the Pennsylvania native began racing in Super Stock. He then started bringing his sons Don and Dave, who cut their teeth in Stock Eliminator. Then when Dave's son Jason, a sophomore at the University of Delaware, was old enough to race, the Raser's family tradition was passed on.

Currently the Raser family race at Cecil County Raceway, in Rising Sun, Md., where Lon, Don, Dave and Jason all compete in two categories on a weekly basis.

ATI Performance Products Helps Out Those In Need

With the attacks on America on September 11, 2001 there has been a need for relief funds for families with lost and injured loved ones in New York and Washington DC. With help from the NHRA community, Baltimore, Maryland based ATI Performance Products is aiding the search and rescue efforts in New York City and Washington D.C.

Those drivers competing at the NHRA Summit Racing Northeast Division Series Finals will have the opportunity to join with ATI Products in helping these relief efforts. For the first 10 drivers who have a .500 reaction time during eliminations, ATI Performance Products plans to donate $100 in the driver's name to the American Red Cross.
