CHICAGO-2 - Pro Stock Truck Qualifying Notes, Final Session

JOLIET, Ill. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Truck at the Inaugural NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:


Left Lane: Peter Berner Runs 7.562/177.35, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.575/182.67, Was #21
Right Lane: Michael Graves Runs 7.810/171.73, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.824/171.45, Was #22

3:44 PM Berner runs a career best ET on this pass but doesn't get in the show. Graves gets a little out of shape right off the line but still makes his best run ever.

Left Lane: Rick Brown Runs 7.497/179.04, Now #20; Best prior run: 7.544/179.11, Was #20
Right Lane: Craig Eaton Runs 7.512/180.45, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.484/180.45, Was #19

Brown runs a career best ET but doesn't get in the field. Eaton is still having problems and slows from his earlier run.

Left Lane: Scott Tidwell Runs 7.458/180.45, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.470/180.69, Was #17
Right Lane: Lou Ficco Runs 7.477/179.68, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.473/179.88, Was #18

Tidwell runs a career best ET and gets in the show for now. Ficco slows from his earlier run and won't make the field.

Left Lane: Jeff Naiser Runs 7.442/180.52, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.462/180.04, Was #16
Right Lane: Jerry Haas Runs 7.478/179.76, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.465/179.88, Was #17

Haas slows from his earlier runs and won't make the show. Naiser, with a career best ET and speed, gets in the top half of the field.

Left Lane: Todd Patterson Runs 7.421/180.60, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.460/180.40, Was #16
Right Lane: Jeff Gracia Runs 7.453/181.25, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.453/181.06, Was #13

It must be the left lane, Patterson runs a career best and gets off the bump. Gracia equals his earlier run and stays 13th.

Left Lane: Scott Perin Runs 7.465/180.74, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.457/180.50, Was #15
Right Lane: Bart Price Runs 7.443/181.69, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.453/181.11, Was #14

Price makes a big jump and moves up to 14th.

Left Lane: Dale Eaton Runs 7.482/181.03, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.453/181.28, Was #13
Right Lane: Victor Cagnazzi Runs 7.480/180.33, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.434/181.50, Was #7



Left Lane: Don Smith Runs 7.415/180.94, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.453/181.35, Was #12
Right Lane: Taylor Lastor Runs 7.422/180.79, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.419/180.48, Was #5

Smith makes a big jump, running a career best ET, and gets in the third spot. Lastor doesn't improve and drops a spot.

Left Lane: Mark Whisnant Runs 7.430/180.94, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.447/181.37, Was #12
Right Lane: John Lingenfelter Runs 7.534/166.97, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.418/181.20, Was #5

Another career best, Whisnant improves and gets in the top half of the field for now.

Left Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 7.424/181.23, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.438/181.72, Was #10
Right Lane: Randy Daniels Runs 7.430/180.98, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.399/181.54, Was #2

Stanfield improves and moves up two spot.

Left Lane: Bob Panella Jr Runs 7.380/182.11, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.418/181.91, Was #4

Panella runs a career best ET and moves up to number two. That sets the field with Coughlin on the pole and taking on Tidwell in round one tomorrow.
