MILLINGTON, Tenn. -- In the final results from Bandimere Speedway, Federal-Mogul Funny Car driver Kirk Williams, who was the top qualifier in the class, took the win over veteran driver Vern Moats. In Federal-Mogul Dragster, Alan Bradshaw was the winner over Mike Strasburg. It was the first trip to the winner's circle for both drivers. After going to five consecutive final rounds, Williams finally came out on top. The Glenwood, Iowa, resident ran the quarter-mile in 6.067 seconds at 237.30 mph. Moats, from Des Moines, Iowa, gave Williams a run for his money at 6.147 seconds at 235.97 mph. Bradshaw of Odessa, Texas, made a 5.704-second, 251.86-mph pass over Strasburg's tire-smoking effort of 10.322 seconds at 83.07 mph. Winners in other categories are Rod Oman of Lakewood, Colo., in Comp; Randall Klein of Lincoln, Neb., in Super Stock; Jeff Hefler of Mansfield, Texas, in Stock; Mitch Mustard of Arvada, Colo., in Super Comp; Terry Edwards of Cameron, Mo., in Super Gas; Todd Emberley of Parker, Colo., in Super Street; and Buddy Robinson of Colorado Springs, Colo., in Super Bike. Oman took out No. 1 qualifier Clint Sallee in the final while Klein carried his top qualifying effort through to the winner's circle. This was the last of six NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series events in the West Central Division's 2001 season.
