MILLINGTON, Tenn. -- Millington, Tenn. - - The Board of Directors of the Pro Stock Truck Association (PSTA) and its members have voted to donate the entire Pro Stock Truck purse for the NHRA AutoZone Nationals presented by Pennzoil to the disaster relief funds that have been established for this purpose. The donation will total $27,500.

Regarding today’s donation Todd Patterson, vice president of the board of PSTA, said the following:

“Our country came under attack on September 11 and many brave individuals from the United States of America and countries around the world lost their lives in the cowardly and senseless acts that took place at the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and the countryside of rural Pennsylvania. The Pro Stock Truck Association recognizes the seriousness of the attacks and the need to help the victims and their loved ones in this time of crisis. Therefore, we voted unanimously to donate our purse from the NHRA AutoZone Nationals presented by Pennzoil to one of the disaster relief funds that have been established to aid in the relief effort. We hope this donation will in some small way contribute to the rebuilding of our great country.”

The Pro Stock Truck class currently races as one of five professional classes on the NHRA Winston Championship Drag Racing Series. The Pro Stock Truck class competes at 14 of the 23 scheduled NHRA national events. The Pro Stock Truck Association represents 32 member teams.
