MORRISON, Colo. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Federal-Mogul Dragster at the NHRA Division 5 Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series Event listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Shelly Howard No Time, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.687/250.37, Was #2
Right Lane: Alan Bradshaw Runs 5.747/249.67, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.821/246.26, Was #5

3:33 PM Howard kept going after the burnout. Bradshaw was a little loose on the first half of this pass, the car moving in and out of the groove.

Left Lane: David Wells Runs 5.744/249.53, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.680/252.28, Was #1
Right Lane: Larry Traugott Runs 5.924/241.41, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.979/236.96, Was #7

Wells was pressing the centerline in the middle section of the track. No apparent problems for Traugott.

Left Lane: Mike Strasburg Runs 5.768/248.39, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.778/250.09, Was #5
Right Lane: Billy Bybee Runs 5.803/248.02, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.767/248.84, Was #4

A nice side-by-side effort here, Bybee with a .961-second 60-foot time.

Left Lane: Edwin Schmeekle Runs 5.976/235.72, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.003/231.87, Was #8
Right Lane: Kent Nuckols Runs 5.845/244.07, Now #6; No Prior Run

Schmeekle was soft on the launch and he is out of the show for now.

Left Lane: Bruce Bowler Runs 6.080/224.43, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.229/219.29, Was #10
Right Lane: Brent DuCray Runs 8.802/97.84, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.875/239.61, Was #7

DuCray was on a good pass with a .959 60-foot time, but he pitched the blower belt at half track. Bowler was out of the groove at 200 feet, and he had to fight to keep it off the centerline the rest of the way down the track.
