MEMPHIS - Pro Stock Truck Qualifying Notes, Session #1

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Truck at the 14th annual AutoZone NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:


Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 8.381/124.41, Now #1

2:57 PM McGaha starts off the first session of pro qualifying this weekend with problems. He comes off the line okay, but then the rear of the truck starts moving around and he has to shut down about 500 feet out.

Left Lane: Rick Brown Runs 8.323/125.25, Now #2
Right Lane: Jerry Haas Runs 7.678/177.23, Now #1

Haas gets out of the groove right off the line, straightens it out about halftrack and makes a decent pass.

Left Lane: Samuel Tompkins Runs 7.704/174.93, Now #2
Right Lane: Scott Tidwell No Time, Now #5

Tidwell breaks after the burnout and has to be pushed off the track. Tompkins makes a decent pass, right down the groove.

Right Lane: Lou Ficco Runs 7.611/177.91, Now #1

Ficco keeps it in the groove all the way down and takes over the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Larry Kopp Runs 7.663/176.53, Now #3
Right Lane: Dale Eaton Runs 7.557/179.40, Now #1



Left Lane: Craig Eaton Runs 7.594/177.93, Now #3
Right Lane: John Coughlin Runs 7.558/178.95, Now #2



Left Lane: Bart Price Runs 7.710/179.47, Now #9
Right Lane: Mark Whisnant Runs 7.557/179.42, Now #1

Whisnant gets a little out of shape, the truck makes a move to the left, but he gets it straightened out and takes the number one spot for now.

Left Lane: John Lingenfelter Runs 7.559/178.90, Now #5
Right Lane: Jeff Naiser Runs 7.501/178.92, Now #1

No problems for Naiser, he keeps it in the groove for a good run, .05 ahead of the rest of the field so far.

Left Lane: Victor Cagnazzi Runs 7.503/180.28, Now #3
Right Lane: Mike Coughlin Runs 7.500/179.90, Now #1



Left Lane: Taylor Lastor Runs 7.501/179.56, Now #2
Right Lane: Don Smith Runs 7.515/179.85, Now #5

Lastor drifts toward the centerline but hangs on and gets in the second spot for now.

Left Lane: Scott Perin Runs 7.581/178.47, Now #11
Right Lane: Todd Patterson Runs 7.537/178.83, Now #6



Left Lane: Jeff Gracia Runs 7.505/179.68, Now #5
Right Lane: Greg Stanfield Runs 7.514/179.52, Now #6



Left Lane: Randy Daniels Runs 7.480/179.73, Now #1
Right Lane: Bob Panella Jr Runs 7.506/180.24, Now #7

Daniels has a good 1.05 sixty foot time and jumps to the front of the pack.
